お腹の赤ちゃんを気に掛けてるんだね！サインで伝わる瞬間

A Tiny Sign of Love

　第二子を妊娠中のベビーサイナーHちゃんの
ママとHちゃんの入浴中のある一コマ。
お腹を触りながら「ここに赤ちゃんがいるよ。」と、ママはサインとともにHちゃんに
お話していました。それに応えてHちゃんも
【赤ちゃん】のサインをします。ママとHちゃん、サインでの会話を楽しんでいました。
　One day, H-chan and her mom—who was pregnant with her second baby—were taking a bath together. While gently rubbing her tummy, Mom said, “There’s a baby right here,” and made the baby sign. In response, H-chan signed “baby” back. The two of them enjoyed a sweet little conversation in signs.

　すると、Hちゃん、ベビー用のシャンプーを見てまた【赤ちゃん】のサイン。と、もう1つ、
今度は違うサインをしたのです。それは・・・

【いっしょ！】

そしてそのシャンプーをママのお腹の側に持ってきました。

　Then, H-chan glanced at a bottle of baby shampoo and made the “baby” sign again. A moment later, she made another sign—this time, it was “same!” Right after that, she brought the shampoo bottle close to her mom’s tummy.

　実はそのシャンプーには、赤ちゃんのイラストがついていました。Hちゃん、ママのお腹にいる赤ちゃんと、シャンプーのイラストの赤ちゃんが同じ【赤ちゃん】である事をママに伝えたかったんですね！そしてそれをママが分かってくれるから、Hちゃん幸せな気持ちに包まれたに間違いなし！
　The reason she made the sign was because there was a picture of a baby on the bottle. H-chan wanted to tell her mom that the baby in her tummy and the baby on the bottle were both “baby”—so she signed “same!” And since her mom understood exactly what she meant, H-chan must have felt so happy and loved.

　そんな風に、サインで教えてくれる事でお腹の赤ちゃんの事を気にかけてくれていると思うと、なんだかもうお姉ちゃんらしさを感じて
嬉しくなりますね！ママも幸せな気持ちに
なりますね！
　In the same way, Mom could tell that H-chan cared about the baby in her tummy—and it was heartwarming to see her already acting like a big sister. That must have made Mom feel truly happy.
